Empowering women through land, farming, and fair value
🌍 Our Vision
The Arusha Women’s Agricultural Cooperative is a community-led initiative bringing together a group of women to farm one acre of land collectively. The project is designed to create long-term, sustainable income while building skills, confidence and independence.
🌾 How the Cooperative Works
- The group consists of 10 women
- One acre of farmland is cultivated together
- Crops are grown for local market sale
- Income is shared among members
- Skills and knowledge are developed through practice
💛 Fair Pricing & Community Value
The Arusha Women’s Agricultural Cooperative is committed to fair pricing that reflects the true value of locally grown, organic produce.
Rather than competing to lower prices, the cooperative focuses on ensuring that the women who grow, harvest, and sell the produce are fairly rewarded for their work.
This model supports:
- Dignified and sustainable income for women
- High-quality local organic food production
- Strong and resilient local markets
- Affordable access to fresh produce for the community
This is not about selling cheaply — it is about creating fair value for real work.
💛 What Funding Will Provide
- Purchase of farmland
- Seeds and farming tools
- Irrigation and basic equipment
- Initial training and setup support
Once established, the cooperative will become self-sustaining through crop sales.
🌱 Long-Term Impact
- Financial independence for women
- Stronger local economies
- Improved food security
- Community-led sustainable agriculture
🌍 A Growing Movement
This is the first of many cooperatives. As the programme grows, more groups will be established across surrounding communities.
🤝 Global Community Support
The foundation is already supported by a growing international network of volunteers connected through the Hovinais Day Centre initiative.
These volunteers, living in countries around the world, are helping to share the vision of The Charisma Foundation within their own communities.
This global support network is helping to raise awareness, build connections, and encourage long-term collaboration across borders.
